Study goals
This study investigates which are the main authors and research clusters, as well as the implementation models of metal additive manufacturing, which affect implementation performance in the manufacturing industry.
Relevance / originality
Studies on the implementation of metal additive manufacturing in the manufacturing industry are scarce.
Methodology / approach
Different research methodologies are used in this study, such as bibliometrics and systematic literature review.
Main results
The results provided guidance for identifying the models and criteria involved and the opportunity for companies to assess whether they are prepared for the implementation of metal additive manufacturing.
Theoretical / methodological contributions
The theoretical and practical contributions of this study allowed the identification of the main authors and research cluster of the different aspects of the implementation of metal additive manufacturing and the proposition of a conceptual model to organize the collection of implementation.
Social / management contributions
As a contribution to management, we highlight the identification of existing implementation models and other studies on other challenges and opportunities, as well as the proposition of a conceptual model that can complement the current implementation models.
