Study goals
The objective of this research is to analyze how social microfoundations are interconnected, presenting the relational antecedents to the emergence of innovations in emerging markets.

Methodology / approach
The methodology of this research fits into a quantitative approach, in which we will use the statistical technique of Structural Equation Modeling - to treat the data collected in a survey with subsidiaries of multinationals that operate in the Brazilian market.
Main results
We observed an advance path between the microfoundations that make up the subsidiary's relational embeddedness, and that interdependence is the essential microfoundation for the emergence of trust that precedes commitment and, finally, adaptation, which leads to innovation.
Theoretical / methodological contributions
The contributions of this study are aimed at the academic context, while adding a new perception about how social microfoundations are interconnected, thus filling an existing gap in the conception of relational embeddedness.
Social / management contributions
It contributes to clarifying the importance of the relationship between business network actors.
