The primary objective of the research is to assess whether the Circular Economy (CE) initiatives implemented by the RedeCoop cooperative system generate real and measurable impacts on sustainable development
This study is justified by the urgent need to understand concrete mechanisms for mitigating climate change. Its originality lies in specifically examining the RedeCoop cooperative system from the perspective of EC.
The study adopted a qualitative approach, with data collected through semistructured interviews with three strategically selected key groups: the representative from UPC Emater, the leaders of RedeCoop, and the managers of the cooperatives affiliated with RedeCoop
The findings are divided into three main areas: practical benefits (recycling, composting, logistics) aligned with UN goals; obstacles (lack of public policies, isolated initiatives) with alternatives developed through collective debate that respects local communities; and the balance between robust administrative results and
Theoretically, the study contributes to advancing knowledge about the circular economy within the agri-food cooperative sector by demonstrating that the circular economy is not merely a set of operational techniques, but rather a driver of organizational transformation
The study offers practical recommendations for management, highlights the role of cooperatives in climate mitigation, and strengthens family farming and food sovereignty, advocating for public policies to expand sustainable practices.
