Managers are looking for more innovations so that companies can remain in the market, for this they must seek technological innovation projects and use virtual teams
Relevance / originality
In the literature, systematic reviews were addressed in the last 5 years with only one or two themes of projects, innovators, technology and virtual teams. This research unified the terms and presented an analysis of innovative technology projects using virtual teams
Methodology / approach
The Systematic Review based on Kitchenham (2004) and complemented by Kitcheman et al. (2009) and Kitchenham & Brereton (2013) considering from 2013 to 2023 in the Scopus database.
Main results
From the 163 candidate articles, 46 articles were selected that presented nine aspects of technological innovation projects using virtual teams and 20 research questions based on the findings
Theoretical / methodological contributions
Aspects of technological innovation projects to be deepened and 20 research questions that could be used as insights for other research.
Social / management contributions
Present to managers and project managers some challenges to be considered in innovative projects and with the use of local and global virtual teams.
