Apply Earned Value Management as a control tool in project management in a building construction project.
Relevance / originality
The implementation effective forms of monitoring and control in companies has guaranteed favorable results for their projects. This work seeks to confirm the importance of Earned Value Management as a control tool in project management in the civil construction area.
Methodology / approach
Exploratory study of quantitative nature through a case study of a civil construction work. Data were collected in December 2022 with the participation of the author.
Main results
It was determined the variations of its costs and deadlines, as well as its performance indexes and, lastly, the forecasts of costs and deadlines of the investigated construction work were determined.
Theoretical / methodological contributions
The present work applied the concept of the tool in a practical situation and with the collected data verified its importance.
Social / management contributions
Further disseminate the Earned Value Management tool in Project Management.
