Study goals
The purpose of this report is to present how the implementation of a PMO (Project Management Office – EGP Project Management Office) boosted the skills of a hospital team.
Relevance / originality
The relevance of this work was due to training the professionals of this hospital, increasing maturity, which was evaluated using the MMGP Model (Maturity Model in Project Management), resulting in the hospital being close to the national average of the Health sector.
Methodology / approach
The applied method was a literature review for modeling the PMO and qualitative research of case study of this implementation
Main results
The main results observed were the improvement of the team's theoretical/practical skills, the implementation of the basic elements to manage a portfolio of projects and the evolution of the hospital's maturity
Theoretical / methodological contributions
Theoretical contributions include establishing a model adapted to the hospital context and exemplifying an empirical case with 15 lessons learned for reference to other studies and hospitals
Social / management contributions
Social contributions include collaborating to solve Health challenges and boosting hospital staff's skills and career
