Study goals
Characterize the socio-environmental responsibility of an agricultural company located in the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre.
Relevance / originality
Socio-environmental responsibility goes beyond the legal obligations that a company must comply with, it is part of the organization's strategy and requires proactive organizational investment.
Methodology / approach
Descriptive and qualitative case study. Data collection was carried out through interviews with eight participants who occupy leadership positions in the organization and in internal documents. The qualitative content analysis technique was used.
Main results
It was possible to verify the company's concern in guaranteeing compliance with its internal policy and in guiding and educating its employees through training and dialogues, that the company deals with the issue of socio-environmental responsibility in a strategic way.
Theoretical / methodological contributions
The socio-environmental actions carried out reduce environmental impacts and the company studied performs an excellent job in this regard, becoming an exemplary case.
Social / management contributions
The research contributes with the presentation of socio-environmental responsibility strategies and practices adopted in the target company, which can serve as inspiration for organizations that wish to improve the development of RSA.
