Study goals
Dimension the main problems in the stock sector of a company in the metallurgical industry and proportion based on the 5S methodology so that the work environment is reflected in more optimized processes with a focus on continuous improvement.
Relevance / originality
The article presents a work with practical field study and applied through the elaboration of a checklist and the construction of a panel of indicators (KPIs) to optimize the management of the stock sector of the studied company.

Main results
The work enabled a notable improvement in the organization of the sector, in addition to facilitating communication between employees and the area manager and identifying and dealing with various problems inherent to the stock.

Social / management contributions
Through the field study, it was possible for all employees in the stock area to contribute in some way to raising the problems, making a solidary and democratic participation in the management of the sector viable.
