Study goals
Analyze the current scenario of reuse water use in urban activities in the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo, in order to discuss the practice of reuse as an alternative for supply.
Relevance / originality
With the critical scenario of public water supply, it is necessary to know the factors that influence society's perception of the use of reused water in order to assess the feasibility of investing in expanding the production of this resource.
Methodology / approach
For the development of the study, semi-structured interviews were carried out with specialists in the water resources sector, in order to allow the subject to be approached in a more comprehensive way from different and points of interest.
Main results
The analysis of this scenario shows the reality of reused water as part of the supply solution and the need to develop integrated actions between the necessary parties to expand the use of this resource, contributing to the sustainability of the planet.
Theoretical / methodological contributions
It was possible to identify that much still can and needs to be done, necessarily counting on the participation of the government, which is the entity with the greatest structure to manage and encourage the practice of water reuse.
Social / management contributions
Searching for water supply solutions at a time of scarcity of good quality water has become an essential measure and the practice of reusing water is an alternative, which if well worked out, can meet this need.
