Study goals
The research will investigate recent studies on people management and project management published in Portuguese and English between 2011 and 2020.
Relevance / originality
The research is justified by the importance of people management in project management, enabling greater efficiency, greater engagement and synergy in the execution of tasks. The research was carried out based on the criteria of a systematic literature review.
Methodology / approach
Works outside the time frame, which did not address the theme and which were not available in full, were excluded. 75 studies were found in Scopus, 16 in Academic Google and none in SCIELO. The final sample included 30 studies.
Main results
The results show that there are few studies correlating people management with project management. Existing studies adopt a quantitative perspective, with rational and non-humanistic analysis, still replicating obsolete human resources precepts.
Theoretical / methodological contributions
The study helps to demonstrate how people management influences success in project management, and to point out strategies for developing teams for the success of projects, as well as opening up opportunities for further research.
Social / management contributions
Studies show that human aspects and organizational climate have a great influence on project management.
