The aim of this study was to investigate the role of logistics management in a service provision business, more specifically, in the pet market.

The relevance of this research lies in the fact that logistics is less explored in the service sector compared to other sectors, being an area that generates strong impacts on an organization.

This research is characterized as a case study with a focus on investigation, data collection and analysis on the logistical operation in a service provider company in the Pet Shop business.

Mitigation of logistical problems, identification of fundamental elements to the process, explanation of management modus operandi, thus enabling greater business competitiveness.

This article involved theories, methodologies and tools that, when put into practice, generated satisfactory results, indicating their applicability and effectiveness.
Social / management contributions
The study of service logistics applied to a small business in the pet shop serv segment exemplified some of the different challenges faced by the Brazilian entrepreneur and, therefore, it becomes an example and basis for further research.
