This study seeks to answer the following research question "What are the main challenges and opportunities in projects for digital products in insurance companies?".
Relevance / originality
The research aims to contribute to the understanding of the phenomena that occur during digital product development projects.
Methodology / approach
The methodological approach was a cross-sectional case study in a large insurance organization. This study is exploratory in nature and a qualitative approach was used to evaluate the data collected through semi-structured interviews with 5 digital product project managers.
. The results of this research reinforce that the digital transformation process is very dynamic and complex, mainly due to regulatory issues and internal challenges of the organization, notably related to the orientation of the activities of the group of employees.
Theoretical / methodological contributions
There is a relevant contribution by clarifying some of the challenges and capturing future paths for improvement both for the interviewed professionals and for the organization.
Social / management contributions
It is considered that this study favors a reflection on the subject of project management of digital products in organizations whose background is strongly traditional.
