Relevance / originality
This study gains relevance by eliminating a gap that still persists in studies of entrepreneurship by minorities in Brazil: of investigating black women in isolation, as a specific object of studies within the field.
Methodology / approach
This is a theoretical study covering articles extracted from articles in the Web of Science (WoS) – Social Citation Index (SSCI) Strings (Woman Entrepreneur AND Black) and (Black Woman Minority AND Entrepreneurship) were used with filter and 23 articles were obtained.
Main results
The findings suggest that this is an emerging topic of great importance not only for the area of entrepreneurship, but for related and specific areas such as psychology and sociology It opens up interesting perspectives involving black entrepreneurs in Brazil to overcome.
Theoretical / methodological contributions
The text contributes by offering the interdisciplinary character of theoretical studies in entrepreneurship from the analysis of the phenomenon in order to understand the ability of black entrepreneurs to overcome the stereotypes of gender and ethnicity, in the field of entrepreneurship.
Social / management contributions
The results will be able to contribute to the development of public, educational, social, cultural policies, and to develop anti-discriminatory citizenship actions that can favor minorities that want to undertake.
