Study goals
Researching the official publishment of sustainable projects developed by Caruaru City Council, Pernambuco, analyzing how they’re published on its website and social media.
Relevance / originality
The increasing importance of sustainable activities becomes essencial to city sustainable projects official publishing. So, examining the communication on social medias and official website by the Caruaru City Council, Pernambuco, Brazil is crucial for engaging citizens and increasing the projects results.
Methodology / approach
A qualitative study, by exploratory and descriptive features performed in Caruaru, Pernambuco, through June and July 2024. Applied documental examination of the city council social platforms and semi-structured interviews with four public servers, using the Bardin’s Content Analysis.
Main results
Despite of the sustainable projects publishing importance, there is little social media communication, where the focus lies on real actions than in projects. Also the publication centrality limits the communication frequency and efficacy.
Theoretical / methodological contributions
Methodological contribution is on combining the city council social platforms analysis of sustainability coordinators interviews and social medias interested in collecting detailed information and supplying a general approach of the applied practices.
Social / management contributions
Management contribution is linked to the importance of the sustainable projects publishment, helping their on periodicity definition in addition to demonstrating some hindrances to an effective project communication.
