Study goals
The objective of the study is to analyze the strategic cost reduction tool and the characteristics and implications of Voluntary Dismissal Plans (VDPs) in a Brazilian state-owned enterprise.

The study explores employees' motivations for joining the VDP, assesses the benefits and challenges post-joining, and analyzes the impact on cost reduction and the economic and financial rebalancing of companies.
Methodology / approach
Using a documentary analysis methodology, the research examines regulations, efficacy reports, academic articles, and audit reports to understand the reasons employees choose to participate in the VDP, as well as the benefits and challenges they face after joining.

The main findings are that it is possible to reduce costs and generate a positive financial impact for state-owned enterprises, clarify the motivations for employee participation, and identify the consequences of their decision.
