Study goals
Analyze innovation management in a credit cooperative in Nova Serrana – MG, based on the innovation octagon proposed by Scherer and Carlomagno (2009), a model validated by other research whose diagnosis allows an analysis of innovation management.
Relevance / originality
Contribution to scientific knowledge through a theoretical-empirical proposal, emerging reflections from the octagon of innovation. In managerial dynamics, by offering the cooperative involved the opportunity for self-assessment and comparative benchmarking based on the dimensions of the theoretical model used.
Methodology / approach
Study of a descriptive nature and qualitative and quantitative nature in a credit cooperative. To this end, it involved the members of the innovation committee An interview guide and a questionnaire were applied to those involved as an instrument.
Main results
The results achieved allowed us to understand the determining aspects for innovation in the respective cooperative, highlighted mainly in the 'Strategy' category, as well as its deficiencies, especially in the 'Funding' dimension, highlighting the temporal dimension of the innovation committee's action.
Theoretical / methodological contributions
As a theoretical contribution, it contributes to expanding the field of study and understanding aspects of innovation in the context of credit cooperatives As a practical contribution, it consolidates the application of the model used, created based on a reference validated.
Social / management contributions
As a managerial contribution, it offers an opportunity to develop innovation actions and projects that aim to improve the cooperative's competitiveness, especially in the dimension of disseminating a more innovative culture driven by the actions of the innovation committee, optimizing processes.
