The study seeks to analyze the relationship between digital transformation and sustainability in higher education. Through a bibliographic study, understand how digital transformation and sustainability are intertwined and present in the context of higher education institutions.
Relevance / originality
This study is relevant as it explores the convergence of digital transformation and sustainability, focusing on how higher education institutions adapt and influence society. The originality lies in applying bibliometric techniques to map and understand these emerging trends.
Methodology / approach
We applied bibliometric techniques to analyze scientific publications from Scopus and WoS, using PyBibX for quantitative analysis. The study included exploratory data analysis, network analysis, and topic modeling based on Deep Learning to evaluate research topics effectively.
Main results
We identified this as an emerging research field with increasing interest, especially post-COVID-19. Collaboration among actors is still developing. The literature focuses on two main topics: teaching and learning challenges in higher education, and sustainability, economic development, and universities' societal roles.
