Study goals
The propositions based on the areas and principles of project management were validated, and it was understood that adapting agile project management methodologies can contribute to the sustainability of startups.
Relevance / originality
Despite the relevance of technology startups, their success rate remains modest. Many challenges are linked to organizational capabilities, including project management. This study aims to bridge project management with the managerial context of startups.
Methodology / approach
Through a systematic literature review, factors contributing to startup failures were identified, followed by an exploratory analysis that outlined 22 propositions on how the knowledge areas and principles of project management can contribute. These propositions were then validated in the field.
