Production systems are little covered in studies on family farming in the Amazon. The review can provide a comprehensive and integrated view of the production systems used in family farming in the Amazon and even help to identify emerging evidence.
Methodology / approach
The methodology adopted follows the guidelines of the Joanna Briggs Institute, using the "PCC" (Population, Concept and Context) strategy. The search in the Scopus and Web of Science databases resulted in 34 articles, of which 13 were selected for full analysis.

Much of the work discusses the issue of the absence of the State when it comes to offering technical assistance. The lack of this specialized guidance makes it difficult for farmers to implement innovations and properly handle agricultural inputs.
Theoretical / methodological contributions
After analyzing the limitations, gaps and proposals identified in the articles of this review, the need to propose a research agenda arises.
Social / management contributions
The idea is to highlight gaps in existing knowledge, limitations of the current study, and opportunities for additional study.
