The study innovates by applying TOPSIS to the management of agricultural project portfolios, promoting more strategic decisions aligned with organizational goals. This contributes to sustainable practices, technological innovation, and improved resource management in the agricultural sector.
Methodology / approach
Through action research, real data from projects of a multinational agricultural company were collected, describing how the projects are presented and selected within the company.
Main results
The TOPSIS method proved to be more comprehensive and efficient, showing 70% similarity among the top 10 projects. It is easy to apply and an excellent alternative to the analysis performed by the company’s stakeholders and for the project prioritization process.
Theoretical / methodological contributions
The study contributes to validating the application of TOPSIS for selecting agricultural projects, highlighting its simplicity and effectiveness in multicriteria analysis. It suggests continuous review of parameters and inclusion of strategic criteria, improving organizational decision-making.
Social / management contributions
The study promotes more strategic and sustainable decisions in the management of agricultural project portfolios, improving resource allocation and increasing efficiency. This can result in more responsible agricultural practices, benefiting both the company and the community and the environment.
