Study goals
This research work sought to develop an artifact to assist public project managers, carrying out an intervention, addressing the theoretical references of PMO - Project Management Office, public administration, project selection, public funding and frugal innovation.
Relevance / originality
This research sought to understand the problem of the lack of a common structure to select and make public funding available to projects based on the concept of frugal innovation, or projects that can generate efficiency and savings in public management.
Methodology / approach
This research used a combination of Design Science research and action research methods, seeking to understand the problem of the lack of an organized methodology for selecting and promoting public projects with a frugal concept.
Main results
Creation and publication of the public call notice was approved by the focus group, which is the public call committee of the aforementioned public organization.
Theoretical / methodological contributions
The identification of the problem included the formation of a research committee, interviews with public servants, observations by the researcher and a review of the literature, all of which generated a significant contribution, using DSR and Action Research methods.
Social / management contributions
That the Artifact is replicable and usable, even where the organizational structure is limited and with less budgetary.
