Systematic review following the PRISMA protocol, with searches in the Scopus and Web of Science databases. Of 40 raw records identified, 24 eligible articles resulted, of which 16 underwent full reading and thematic content analysis.
Three central mechanisms were identified: digital financial inclusion, market expansion through trading platforms, and strengthening of human capabilities. These mechanisms rarely operate in isolation; poverty reduction depends on combining technology with complementary institutional conditions.
Proposes an analytical framework that organizes dispersed literature into seven thematic axes, showing that the relationship between digital transformation and poverty reduction is mediated by institutional, human and organizational factors, rather than direct or automatic.
Guides social business managers and policymakers to treat digital technology as one step within a broader strategy, conditioned on institutional infrastructure and beneficiaries' capacity to use it, avoiding expectations of automatic results.
