Study goals
The aim of this study was to analyze which Industry 4.0 enabling technology is most used in Education 4.0, what its benefits are, and at what level it is used.
Relevance / originality
The technologies of Industry 4.0 are being used in all sectors of society and, in education, it cannot be different. Its use opens up countless learning possibilities in the Education 4.0 era.
Methodology / approach
A systematic literature review was carried out in the Scopus (Elsevier), Web of Science and ScienceDirect (Elsevier) databases, starting in 2011 Fifty-one articles were selected for a quantitative analysis and twenty-three of them were read to answer the research questions.
Main results
The results show that the most used technology in Education 4.0 is Augmented Reality (AR). The level of education at which it is most present is higher education.
Theoretical / methodological contributions
Augmented Reality is still quite restricted to universities and courses related to manufacturing. It is expected that this work can contribute to the development of Education 4.0 and, especially, of AR, in all stages of learning.
Social / management contributions
It is concluded that AR collaborates to increase immersion in content, student engagement, reduce costs and risks, simulate real work scenarios, develop soft skills and learn about technologies, their uses and modes of operation.
