This article aims to map the aspects that motivate the use of these monitoring wearables by both patients and health professionals.
Relevance / originality
Monitoring the health of pregnant women, especially in high-risk pregnancies, is one of the main ways to reduce gestational mortality. There are many advantages associated with using wearable monitoring technologies, but resistance to their use is still an issue.
Methodology / approach
For data collection, semi-structured interviews were carried out using the Value-Focused Thinking method to build a network of values.
Main results
Through the crossing of data from the semi-structured interviews, a framework was made available with 26 Objectives Means used to achieve 3 Objectives, which consist of Maximizing the Quality of Prenatal Care, Minimizing Deaths and Minimizing Health System Costs.
Theoretical / methodological contributions
This article can be used as a reference for the use of the Value-Focused Thinking method, evolving into other studies related to the health area or instantiations in other areas.
Social / management contributions
This framework can be used by stakeholders of the health system, whether researchers, technology developers, health professionals, health policy makers, medical insurance, among others.
