Study goals
The study goal of this work is to analyze and propose improvements in the efficiency of compliance with the weekly maintenance schedule.
Relevance / originality
This article is relevant because it serves as a basis for other studies and implementations related to inventory management in the area covered and other correlated areas.
Methodology / approach
As a basis for the study, the DMAIC methodology was used to improve the materials and inventory management process and designing the improvement control for a period of one year to achieve the expected goal.
Main results
Six proposed actions will be carried out and among them an action of immediate implementation, which will generate an expected increase of 20% of the average in the four consecutive weeks of the initial study, evidencing the effectiveness of the applied method.
Theoretical / methodological contributions
Analyze the entire process of the supply and maintenance sector and propose an improvement using the tools of the DMAIC method together with the philosophy of the Lean Manufacturing method, with the objective of reducing waste and increasing efficiency.
Social / management contributions
Implementation of management improvements, contributing to cost reduction, reducing rework and waste, also generating greater training for workers through specialized training focused on materials management.
