Resumo

O objetivo do estudo é analisar as práticas de logística reversa nas empresas do setor metalomecânico da cidade de Erechim – RS, buscando entender suas características, motivações e dificuldades.

Apesar dos potenciais benefícios, muitas organizações ainda se encontram defasadas na adoção de atividades de logística reversa, Isso pode ser observado pela escassez de estudos abordando sistemas de logística reversa em países emergentes, sobretudo em municípios de pequeno e médio porte.

O estudo foi baseado em uma metodologia quantitativa, onde a partir de um questionário, buscou quantificar numericamente as empresas que utilizam a logística reversa, a natureza e as especificidades das práticas utilizadas, bem como entender as expectativas das organizações quanto ao tema.

Os resultados apontam que a utilização da logística reversa no município é motivada, primordialmente, pelo cumprimento da legislação, e que para os gestores da região, o tema ainda é um investimento difícil de ser justificado e priorizado.

O modelo proposto, permitiu identificar padrões semelhantes aos indicados na literatura. Além disso, permitiu identificar lacunas na utilização da logística reversa, principalmente no que diz respeito a logística reversa de pós-consumo e de embalagens.

O método utilizado evidenciou oportunidades de estudos e melhorias nas organizações, contribuindo com o valor agregado às operações e redução de custos, além da promoção da sustentabilidade ambiental.

The objective of the study is to analyze reverse logistics practices in companies in the metalworking sector in the city of Erechim - RS, seeking to understand their characteristics, motivations and difficulties.

Despite the potential benefits, many organizations are still lagging behind in adopting reverse logistics activities. This can be observed by the scarcity of studies addressing reverse logistics systems in emerging countries, especially in small and medium-sized municipalities.

The study was based on a quantitative methodology, where using a questionnaire, it sought to numerically quantify the companies that use reverse logistics, the nature and specificities of the practices used, as well as understand the expectations of organizations on the subject.

The results indicate that the use of reverse logistics in the municipality is motivated, primarily, by compliance with the legislation, and that for the managers of the region, the theme is still a difficult investment to be justified and prioritized.

The proposed model allowed the identification of patterns similar to those indicated in the literature. In addition, it made it possible to identify gaps in the use of reverse logistics, especially with regard to post-consumer reverse logistics and packaging.

The method used showed opportunities for studies and improvements in organizations, contributing to the added value to operations and cost reduction, in addition to promoting environmental sustainability.
