Study goals
Communication is important to integrate team members and ensure that the result delivered is the one specified according to the client's wishes. In this sense, the objective was to map the practices of communication management in projects, in Brazilian publications.
Relevance / originality
Communications management is one of the knowledge areas of PMBOK, PMI's guide to project management. A well-planned communication helps in the different stages of the project, favoring alignment, integration and contributing to the success of the delivery.
Methodology / approach
A systematic review of studies published in the CAPES, SPELL and USP theses databases was carried out. The words “project” or “projects” and “communication” in the title, abstract or keyword were searched to map articles of interest published between 2010 and 2022.
Main results
The skills and vision of project managers on the subject and factors that favor and hinder communication were highlighted.
Theoretical / methodological contributions
A set of information related to the task of managing communications was mapped from the perspective of practice and functionality that aims to assist organizations in carrying out projects. Based on the observed results, a communication plan model was proposed.
Social / management contributions
The proposed communication plan was based on practical and functional observations contained in the selected articles and, therefore, directly contributes to the management of projects in companies.
