Study goals
This paper aims to demonstrate how project managers have been organizing themselves with the impacts caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in the area of project management and presents observations on the subject considering the Brazilian scenario.
Relevance / originality
The observations presented can contribute to future debates about the field of project management, as well as, contribute to shaping new ways of working or managing, especially in a scenario of resumed, post-pandemic, new normal.
Methodology / approach
A literature search was conducted on COVID-19 and project management, globally, and the three perspectives intrinsic to the scenario were demonstrated: remote work, virtualization and leadership, and how these contribute to minimize the impacts on the new one.
Main results
Introduce the considerations and discussions about the Brazilian and global scenario to adapt to the new normal in project management. Point out what are the perspectives and characteristics that can reduce the impacts of the pandemic in project management.
Theoretical / methodological contributions
The bibliographical research carried out contributes to the compilation of information about the perspectives pointed out. The considerations and discussions, on the other hand, present new research possibilities, register the existing scenario in the literature and advance the literature on the subject.
Social / management contributions
The considerations and discussions, contribute to scientific advancement and knowledge for the community at large about the area of project management in the post-pandemic or new normal situation.
