Study goals
The main objective was to map the necessary arrangement for a group therapy model mediated by digital communication technologies. The secondary objective was to report how the Design Thinking (DT) approach guided the project in all its phases.
Relevance / originality
Several studies on group therapy were carried out in periods prior to the pandemic, where it was possible to develop a face-to-face care system In the reported case, the challenge was to create a welcoming and interactive environment mediated by digital technologies
Methodology / approach
The experience reported was based on action research This type of research is situated between practice and academic research and is characterized by the researcher's action in the research environment (Tripp, 2005) In this report, the experimentation carried out was detailed
Main results
The virtual therapy model presented went through several phases of collaborative construction, which included from the identification of the problem to the testing of the prototype, emerging from the collective ideation.
Theoretical / methodological contributions
The theoretical-methodological contribution of the study was the practical testing of the Stanford d school's DT model The adaptations made showed that the approach values the dynamics of the environment and the actors involved Efforts for improvement are well received at DT
Social / management contributions
The social contribution was the development of a tested model of group therapy mediated by digital communication technologies, which can be used by any institution and with different audiences.
