Study goals
to investigate whether there is an influence of cultural and emotional intelligence on the success of the project, realizing that success cannot be understood in a restricted way to the processes, but within a broader strategic concept, understanding the context.
Relevance / originality
Research shows that the sense of belonging of team members is strongly related to the success of projects.
Methodology / approach
From a quantitative approach, we applied a questionnaire to 231 professionals active in projects from various segments in Brazil, later a factor analysis and a linear regression were used to process the data
Main results
The analysis revealed that customer satisfaction is a factor of perceived success, in addition to the iron triangle. The hypotheses confirmed that influences of emotional intelligence; self-knowledge, self-control, associated with cognitive and behavioral cultural intelligence factors are positive for success.
Theoretical / methodological contributions
For the theory, our study confirms that contextual factors (customer satisfaction) are linked to process factors (iron triangle) in achieving success.
Social / management contributions
For practice we propose that the social skills of the individual; focus (emotional intelligence) and motivation/behavior (cultural intelligence) linked to the feeling of belonging are drivers for success.
