Resumo

Este estudo tem como objetivo analisar a literatura sobre folga de recursos organizacionais e sua relação com as atividades de exploration e exploitation.

Há carência de estudos que analisem a folga de recurso em contextos de decisões estratégicas, em essência sobre exploitation e exploration. A relação direta entre estes construtos trouxe contribuições relevantes para teoria e para gestão frente a folga de recursos.

Para realizar esta revisão da literatura, busquei, nas bases de dados Web of Science e Scopus, artigos que trataram esta relação. Os 14 artigos analisados permitiram propor um arcabouço teórico, sobre os motivadores, antecedentes e a decisão em explorar ou exploitar.

Os resultados mostraram que existem formas diferentes de identificar as atividades de exploration (inovações radicais), e exploitation (inovações incrementais) Os antecessores que estão relacionados aos fatores ambientais e organizacionais são insuficientes para determinar a tomada de decisão.

A pesquisa resultou em um mapa teórico que engloba os fatores tradicionais encontrados na literatura e a inclusão de novos fatores fundamentais que influenciam as tomadas de decisões em exploitar ou explorar frente a folga de recursos.

Os elementos encontrados nos fatores organizacionais e ambientais não são suficientes para responder as estratégias das empresas. A inclusão dos fatores comportamentais foram inclusos como fundamentais para estratégias organizacionais. Estes fatores podem auxiliar os decisões a compreender o que motiva a decisão.

This study aims to analyze the literature on organizational resources slack and its relationship with exploration and exploitation activities.

To carry out this literature review, I searched the Web of Science and Scopus databases for articles that addressed this relationship The 14 articles analyzed allowed us to propose a theoretical framework, on the motivators, antecedents and decision to explore or exploit.

The results showed that there are different ways of identifying exploration (radical innovations) and exploitation (incremental innovations) activities. The predecessors that are related to environmental and organizational factors are insufficient to determine decision making.

The research resulted in a theoretical map that encompasses the traditional factors found in the literature and the inclusion of new fundamental factors that influence decision-making to exploit or exploit in the face of resource slack.

The elements found in the organizational and environmental factors are not enough to answer the companies' strategies. The inclusion of behavioral factors were included as fundamental for organizational strategies. These factors can help decision-makers understand what motivates the decision.
