Study goals
The objective of this work will be to verify the behavior of the mortar in the fresh and hardened state after the partial replacement of lime by the dregs residue, from the cellulose industry, in order to verify the possibility of its
Relevance / originality
Companies that produce pulp are looking for a sustainable alternative for the destination of their waste. A promising result could lead to the reuse of dregs residue in civil construction, instead of sending it to landfills.
Methodology / approach
The work was based on bibliographic research, in which examples of application of the use of iron ore residue were searched in the literature. It is also a field research, as tests were carried out in the laboratory to analyze the properties.
Main results
When still fresh, the mortar with residue had a better consistency than the conventional mortar. After hardening, it presented greater mechanical resistance due to the packing of the grains, which allows its application in several areas of civil engineering, including structural.
Theoretical / methodological contributions
The theoretical contribution can be observed in the theoretical basis that was presented throughout the text, with a complementary table presenting the main authors that address the topic. In the methodology, a conventional but effective way to perform the tests was presented.
Social / management contributions
It was shown that it is possible to use the residue of dregs in mortars, which makes it possible to create new work areas in the recycling and destination of the refuse This alternative can generate savings for the company and expand
