Study goals
The objective of this work will be to verify the behavior of the concrete in the fresco and to support the partial state of the added state (sand) by its iron ore addition additive, in order to verify the possibility of use
Relevance / originality
Iron ore companies are looking for a sustainable alternative for the disposal of their waste. A promising result could lead to the reuse of iron ore residue, instead of sending it to landfills or dams.
Methodology / approach
The work was based on bibliographic research, in which examples of application of the use of iron ore residue were searched in the literature. It is also a field research, as tests were carried out in the laboratory to analyze the properties.
Main results
When the concrete was still fresh, it became less workable and had a brownish color. After hardening, it presented greater mechanical resistance due to the packing of the grains, which allows its application in several areas of civil engineering, including structural.
Theoretical / methodological contributions
The theoretical contribution can be observed in the theoretical basis that was presented throughout the text, with a complementary table presenting the main authors that address the topic. In the methodology, a conventional but effective way to perform the tests was presented.
Social / management contributions
It was shown that it is possible to use ore waste in concrete, which makes it possible to create new work areas in the recycling and disposal of waste. This alternative can generate savings for the company and expand the patio space.
