Study goals
The objective of the article was to carry out a systematic review of the literature on programmed obsolescence in electronic products.

Methodology / approach
Systematic integrative review of the literature on programmed obsolescence in electronics products, using the EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS) base, with a deliberate temporal delimitation from 2011 to 2020.
Main results
Through a systematic review of the literature, from 2011 to 2020, it was possible to verify that most of the scientific production is located in the questioning of consumer culture, suggesting the need to raise society's awareness of sustainability.
Theoretical / methodological contributions
The work offers contributions to emphasize the relevance of the topic and stimulate more scientific research, as well as to indicate alternatives for gaps in the literature that deals with the topic.
Social / management contributions
The research contributes to society, by highlighting the existence of the phenomenon of programmed obsolescence in electronics and by indicating critical elements that must be the object of attention for organizational managers.
