Study goals
The objective of the study was to understand the determining factors of success of gastronomic festivals as a strategy for the tourist development of the municipalities, having as a case study the Festival of Culture and Gastronomy of Tiradentes.

Methodology / approach
This is a qualitative approach research. From this perspective, the case study was chosen as a research strategy. As a source of evidence for data collection, interviews and document analysis were carried out.
Main results
The data indicated that there is a strong relationship between the actors involved in the gastronomic festival of Tiradentes and that many cooperated for the event. They are actors recognized as highly relevant in the city.
Theoretical / methodological contributions
The efficiency of cooperation networks and innovation for local tourist development were discussed, which benefit directly or indirectly through festivals, bringing benefits to the community and its participants, impacting positively on the social and economic environment.
Social / management contributions
In general, the data collected demonstrate which elements or characteristics make up the success of the Tiradentes gastronomic festival, which suggests the possibility of its potential to be replicated in other locations, as an object of tourist and economic development.
