Study goals
Correlate the data on the degree of innovation with risk management to look for some pattern and validate whether the most innovative companies are those that use the most tools and techniques to manage risks.
Relevance / originality
There is not much work correlating the degree of innovation of a company with the assiduity of its risk management practices, so the research serves to emphasize this relationship.
Methodology / approach
Descriptive research of quantitative character through a questionnaire that uses the Likert scale and is based on the PMBoK 5th Edition and the Innovation Radar.
Main results
It was possible to validate that there is a relationship between the degree of innovation of a company and the assiduity in risk management practices, that is, the more innovative companies are, the more they use risk management tools and techniques.
Theoretical / methodological contributions
The work highlights some tools to measure the degree of innovation of a company, its areas of activity and also exposes a model that describes the activities of risk management and its steps, actors and practices.
Social / management contributions
The result encourages discussion about the importance of risk management in companies, especially in institutions working with innovative projects.
