Resumo

O objetivo deste estudo é analisar as percepções sobre as ‘Características da Tarefa’ dos teletrabalhadores da área de Tecnologia da Informação e Comunicação (TIC) do Instituto Federal do Acre (IFAC) e da Universidade Federal do Acre (UFAC).

Esta pesquisa é relevante por estudar as características da tarefa na percepção de teletrabalhadores da área de TIC em contexto pandêmico, trazendo reflexões para instituições públicas de ensino superior sobre desenho do trabalho e sobre o Work Design Questionnaire (WDQ).

A pesquisa é descritiva e predominantemente quantitativa. Aplicaram-se questionários a 41 servidores da área de TIC. O questionário contemplou 24 subcategorias agrupadas em 6 categorias, baseadas no WDQ. Trataram-se dados com estatísticas descritiva e inferencial, incluindo análise de resíduos.

Após análise das 984 respostas das subcategorias, constatou-se, percepção de concordância nas respostas. A análise por categoria sinalizou que percepções dos teletrabalhadores diferenciaram-se com excesso de ocorrências para cinco categorias, destacando-se ‘concordo totalmente’ para a categoria ‘Variedade de tarefas’.

Este trabalho traz contribuição por não haver estudo sobre Características da Tarefa no Brasil com foco na área de TIC, abrangendo teletrabalhadores de Instituições de Ensino Superior e nas condições geográficas pesquisadas, na região Norte do País.

Como contribuição prática, esta pesquisa pode auxiliar gestores públicos no entendimento das ‘Características da Tarefa’ de trabalhadores da área de TIC, podendo ainda contribuir para o entendimento do desenho de trabalho de forma mais ampla.

The objective of this study is to analyze the perceptions about the 'Task Characteristics' of teleworkers in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) area of the Federal Institute of Acre (IFAC) and the Federal University of Acre (UFAC).

This research is relevant for studying the characteristics of the task in the perception of teleworkers in the ICT area in a pandemic context, bringing reflections to public institutions of higher education on work design and on the Work Design Questionnaire (WDQ).

The research is descriptive and predominantly quantitative. Questionnaires were applied to 41 servers in the ICT area. The questionnaire included 24 subcategories grouped into 6 categories, based on the WDQ. Data were treated with descriptive and inferential statistics, including residual analysis.

After analyzing 984 responses of the subcategories, we found a perception of agreement responses. The analysis by category indicated that perceptions differed with an excess of occurrences for five categories, with emphasis on 'I totally agree' for the category 'Variety of tasks'.

This work brings a contribution because there is no study on Task Characteristics in Brazil with a focus on the ICT area, covering teleworkers from Higher Education Institutions and in the geographical conditions surveyed, in the North region of the Country.

As a practical contribution, this research can help public managers in understanding the 'Task Characteristics' of workers in the ICT area, and may also contribute to the understanding of work design more broadly.
