Resumo

O estudo tem como objetivo geral compreender como o Consórcio Intermunicipal da Fronteira atua na promoção do desenvolvimento social e econômico regional. Portanto, busca-se compreender a gênese do CIF, a estratégia dos municípios e identificar o impacto do CIF no desenvolvimento regional.

A relevância do trabalho se dá pela difusão da estratégia de cooperação intermunicipal para o desenvolvimento regional, a qual pode servir como exemplo para outros municípios, sejam eles da faixa de fronteira ou de outra região cujos municípios compartilhem características entre sí.

A pesquisa se deu pelo método qualitativo, empregando técnicas de pesquisa bibliográfica, ligada a coleta de textos e artigos que discutem a temática do CIF e seus impactos, e documental, através da leitura e coleta de informações em documentos oficiais.

Foi possível concluir que o CIF representa uma importante iniciativa dos municípios de uma região que não possui histórico de investimentos significativos por parte dos governos estaduais e federais, de modo que sua atuação é uma importante estratégia para o desenvolvimento regional.

O estudo contribui para a difusão do tema abordado, de modo a estimular o surgimento de outros trabalhos que tratem do assunto, bem como das estratégias empregadas pelos municípios do CIF para ampliar o desenvolvimento regional.

Entre os eixos de atuação do CIF, destacam-se: a educação, o turismo sustentável, a agroecologia e o incentivo aos produtos locais. A cooperação para a implementação de políticas integradas pode servir como possibilitadora do crescimento econômico e bem-estar social de uma comunidade.

The study aims to understand how the CIF acts in promoting regional social and economic development Therefore, it seeks to understand the genesis of the CIF, the strategy of the municipalities and identify the impact of the CIF on regional development.

The relevance of the work is given by the dissemination of the inter-municipal cooperation strategy for regional development, which can serve as an example for other municipalities, whether they are on the border strip or in another region whose municipalities share characteristics.

The research used the qualitative method, employing bibliographic research techniques, linked to the collection of texts and articles that discuss the theme of the CIF and its impacts, and documentary, through the reading and collection of information in official documents.

It was concluded that the CIF represents an important initiative of the municipalities of a region that does not have a history of significant investments by the state and federal governments, so that its performance is an important strategy for regional development.

The study contributes to the dissemination of the topic addressed, in order to stimulate the emergence of other works dealing with the subject, as well as the strategies employed by the municipalities of the CIF to expand regional development.

Some of the CIF's main areas of action are education, sustainable tourism, agroecology and the promotion of local products. Cooperation for the implementation of integrated policies can serve as an enabler of economic growth and social well-being of a community.
