Study goals
The general objective of this dissertation is to propose a management model for the full Capes doctoral program based on the Resource Based View - RBV.
Relevance / originality
Brazil is one of the countries with the largest number of highly qualified emigrants The analysis of previous studies found that the immigration of highly qualified human resources has a significant impact on strengthening the competitiveness and economic development of the host.
Methodology / approach
The method adopted is mixed in nature (quantitative and qualitative methods for collecting and analyzing data). The research involved a bibliographical and documentary survey; semi-structured in-depth interviews; questionnaire application for a sample of students and graduates of the full Capes doctorate.
Main results
It is envisaged as a result of the present study that one can confirm or corroborate with previous studies, even if partially, and obtain subsidies for the formalization of a management model of the full Capes doctoral program, which considers the context.
Theoretical / methodological contributions
For the success of this research, in view of the defined objectives, a theoretical contribution is sought through the identification of assumptions arising from the literature linked to the approach of the brain drain in Brazil and the discussion of the theme.
Social / management contributions
The aim is to structure the proposal of a management model for the full Capes doctoral program as a social contribution, which considers the demands linked to the brain drain, which entails economic losses and intellectuals to the country.
