Study goals
This research aims to propose a method for Project Portfolio Management that supports the integration of the different portfolios distributed in retail companies as well as the institutionalization of the actors and central elements of these same portfolios.

Methodology / approach
As a research method, Technical Action Research was applied, based on an investigation in the practitioner's field. Then an RSL was performed to understand theoretical gaps and from this point, to develop a method-type artifact.
Main results
As main results, a method for Portfolio Management composed of 4 steps is proposed; (1) Initial Registration, (2) Complementary Registration, (3) Configuration and (4) Project Maintenance and sought to present a solution for the practitioner's field with rigor and scientific method.
Theoretical / methodological contributions
As an academic contribution, a new method in Project Portfolio Management is proposed to support the institutionalization of actors and central elements in retail companies, and which represents a research niche that will evolve through new research.
Social / management contributions
In the field of practitioners, the method is considered as a step-by-step guide to assist in the organization and centralization of project portfolios.
