How the definition of the organizational structure and responsibility matrix can contribute to project management.
Relevance / originality
The relevance of this study is due to the increasing difficulty of companies in adopting the digital transformation with many functional sectors and with great cultural changes required, causing different types of problems in the approach of projects.
Methodology / approach
The research used a qualitative approach, through a case study. The data collection process took place through interviews and analysis of project documents. An analysis of the collected data was then carried out.
Main results
The next project started with recommendations for a mixed organizational structure between matrix and projectized, allowing focus on objectives. The responsibility matrix was defined, addressing communications and assignments, avoiding conflicts between teams and improving overall communication.
Theoretical / methodological contributions
The study provides contributions to scientific knowledge, seeking to understand and solve communication problems and lack of transparency in projects, reinforcing literature concepts and increasing the confidence of researchers and project managers.
Social / management contributions
This technical report allows helping organizations to obtain more visibility to solve communication and transparency problems in project teams, allowing better targeting of stakeholders by making them know those responsible in an organizational structure of the project.
