Relevance / originality
Among the project management activities, one of the most challenging is Risk Identification. In this sense, the literature has presented different catalogs with the main risks that affect projects in the most different areas.
Methodology / approach
It was a comparative study with the main risk catalogs published in the state of the art. Then, a Survey was carried out with 48 professionals from different software development companies to validate the study carried out in the Literature.
Main results
The results showed that the most common risks in software projects are "Team Seniority", "Ill-defined requirements" and "Lack of effective communication". The impact of these risks was also investigated.

It is expected that the results obtained from this work will contribute so that professionals in the IT area can have more knowledge of the main project risks Especially professionals at the beginning of their careers who do not have a lot

It is expected that the results obtained from this work encourage the use of mitigation plans to reduce the impact of risks in software projects.
