t is important to note that Higher Education Institutions have an important role in stimulating actions towards social and environmental management in society. There are few studies at that university, on its performance in socio-environmental issues and in the evaluation of the implementation of the PGLS, therefore, this study intends to overcome this gap.
Methodology / approach
Descriptive research was carried out, with a qualitative and quantitative approach. the study went through three methodological steps: bibliographical and documentary research and application of a questionnaire to university staff.
Main results
As main results, it can be highlighted in the research axes of the applied questionnaire that: on knowledge of the theme and environmental legislation, it was noted that there is a limiting factor as to the knowledge of civil servants in relation to the existence of the UFT Social and Environmental Commission and its attributions As for the socio-environmental commission and its relationship with the institution, it was possible to highlight that there is a problem with proceeding with the inspection of practices within the appropriate regulations and laws In the area of socio-environmental issues and institutionalization at UFT, the diagnosis of the results made it possible to identify that almost fifty percent of civil servants do not know the sustainable practices of UFT, as well as the majority are unaware of any object of measurement or statistical survey of practices socio-environmental issues Regarding socio-environmental awareness and training at UFT, most of the employees revealed that they were not aware of any dissemination practices on norms and socio-environmental practices at the University Regarding the practices, it is urgent to point out that almost one hundred percent of the servers do not know any kind of practice focused on the rational use of water In general, the university's sustainable management has many limiting factors regarding activities related to communication by the Socio-Environmental Commission with civil servants Other limitations can be observed regarding the institutionalization of practices, where the lack of efficient legislation, or compliance with them, is not satisfactorily established within
Theoretical / methodological contributions
to analyze the perception of civil servants regarding the institutionalization of sustainable management and the deficiencies pointed out by them when the university's socio-environmental management through a questionnaire adapted from Rek (2017) and Lima e Almeida (2019).

The work contributes socially and to the management, when it opens space for possible measures to be taken, with the development of sustainable actions based on the diagnosis made.
