Study goals
This article aimed to carry out an empirical study on QWL from the perspective of sustainability
Relevance / originality
One of the variables of Corporate Social Responsibility is the Quality of Life at Work, as social well-being is also linked to the well-being of employees. This association of themes has been little explored, especially when looking at small companies, which represents a gap to be explored by new research.
Methodology / approach
This research can be classified as an exploratory study with a qualitative approach. The data collection instrument was composed of a script containing open guiding themes, based on the perspective of Walton (1973), regarding QWL and the social dimension of the Ethos indicators (2016) for sustainable and responsible businesses. The analysis used the Iramuteq software that allowed the application of the Descending Hierarchical Classification technique, whose purpose was to understand the hierarchical relationship of the words in the text, making it possible to organize the co-occurrence of the words and analyze the text corpus.
Main results
It can be considered that the researched company, despite not having a formalized Quality of life at work program, offers a good quality of life inside and outside work to its employees. As a result of this research, it can be proposed that the company initiates a process of institutionalization and registration of internal and external sustainability practices.
