Study goals
This article shows a change in the development center from the West to the East, the volume of patents granted to the three Asian countries (China, Republic of Korea and Japan) makes up 57% of the total high-tech publication compared to traditional Western countries (United United States, Canada, and the European Union), showing a new world order in solving complex problems mediated by artificial intelligence.
Relevance / originality
The dichotomous assessment of how artificial intelligence may require changes to the innovation protection system and what has been done to adapt innovation protection systems to the new adjacent possible (Loreto et.al 2017) has led the institutions that regulate processes from patents to seek alternatives on how to protect the inventions generated by AI in all areas aiming at a better balance in the processes between the West and the East. This work is new and has not been published anywhere
Methodology / approach
Exploratory, statistical study and analysis of texts based on WIPO and World bank report
Main results
57% of all high-tech patent publications were from Eastern countries, closely correlated with their investments in the past 11 years in some key areas such as education, research and development and infrastructure.
Theoretical / methodological contributions
Through the proposed contribution we can analyze that the demands of technology left the West and migrated to the East, evolving into a new world order of high technology. and when we speak of a new order we understand that power is shifting hands.
Social / management contributions
We can identify new sectors of construction and investment of innovation and creation of high technology.
