Study goals
This technical report aims to analyze how consulting companies incorporate BPM concepts into their clients' processes. To guide this study, the BPM CBOK version 4.0 edited by the ABPMP was adopted.
Relevance / originality
Identify planning, analysis, modeling, implementation, monitoring and process refinement practices that have already been successfully applied.
Methodology / approach
In this study, we opted for a descriptive qualitative research, having as a method the study of multiple cases. The research unit of analysis is composed of nine Consultancies that apply the BPM methodology to their clients.
Main results
The survey shows that BPM is used by companies to seek certifications, staff reduction and software implementation. Customer focus is neglected. For the consultant to show senior management the importance of BPM is difficult.
Theoretical / methodological contributions
An analysis was made of the scenarios found in companies supported by the discussion of several authors' theories and mainly by the good practices presented by the ABPMP (Association of Business Process Management Professionals).
Social / management contributions
This technical report contributes as input for professionals who adopt BPM to achieve success in the market and remain competitive.
