Study goals
The aim of this article is to analyze the characteristics of innovative entrepreneurship in the literature to refine the concept and advance the literature on the subject.
Relevance / originality
The field of innovative entrepreneurship is relatively new, having no consolidated concepts, theories and models. For this, studies on the subject become necessary for the systematic classification of current contributions that can support the development of theories, practices and research.
Methodology / approach
This study is qualitative and quantitative, descriptive/exploratory. It was supported by a systematic literature review, with data extraction from the Web of Science and Scopus databases, with a final total sample of 114 articles.
Main results
Six clusters on innovative entrepreneurship were obtained in the classification: Conceptualization, Entrepreneurship Education, Innovative Entrepreneurship as an engine of the economy, Entrepreneurial Ecosystem, Public Policies as a stimulus for innovative entrepreneurship and Digital Entrepreneurship.
Theoretical / methodological contributions
The study advances the current stage of research on innovative entrepreneurship and encourages the construction of a consolidated concept. Contributes to understanding the concept, practice and characterizes the potential benefits of the topic.
Social / management contributions
It contributes theoretical and practical knowledge about innovative entrepreneurship to the regulatory and public policy framework, education, creation of ecosystems, digital economy and formation of new ventures as a strategy to overcome economic bottlenecks in countries and institutions.
