Study goals
This study search understand how Learning influences Project Management of project-based Company in the event industry (EBEPs).
Relevance / originality
Project-based organizations present opportunities for learning through projects. Thus, it becomes important to better understand how these types of companies are structured and managed in event contexts.
Methodology / approach
A qualitative research was conducted with 14 EBEPs. The primary source of data collection was semi-structured interviews. following some points of attention such as the use of additional questions, short expressions, and reformulation when necessary. In all, 15 interviews were conducted.
Main results
It was evidenced that project management and organizational learning are related, being considered important activities in event companies, even if this is still performed indirectly.
Theoretical / methodological contributions
The study presents a set of factors that contribute to learning in event project-based Companies, highlighting organizational learning, commitment, relationship, leadership and communication, as well as, the barriers: communication, cost, pandemic situation, lack of commitment, schedule, and Location in the event.
Social / management contributions
The contributions of the study is the importance of project management practices in the execution of events in the companies studied.
