Amid the growing debate on tourism and sustainability, this is the first systematic literature review that addresses the triad of "tourism, sustainability, and digital platforms," contributing to the understanding of the state of the art in the field and guiding future research.
Methodology / approach
Conduziu-se uma Revisão Sistemática da Literatura no Web of Science, seguindo os Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses. Foram selecionados e, posteriormente, analisados, com auxílio do programa R, 132 artigos publicados até a data da busca (abril de 2024).
Main results
The results show that the topic is emerging and requires further investigation into digital platforms, particularly concerning impact management, consumer satisfaction, and platform characteristics, with a focus on their potential to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
