Study goals
The present work aims to develop a prioritization matrix for software DT items using the AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) method.
Relevance / originality
Organizations/companies face difficulties in prioritizing software technical debt and there is a shortage of tools for this purpose.
Methodology / approach
The methodology used was Design Science Research (DSR), which aims to construct an artifact as a practical matrix solution to address the difficulty that organizations face in prioritizing DT items.
Main results
The matrix was validated in a multinational company in the vehicle monitoring and tracking sector The result of applying the matrix demonstrates that it was possible to obtain the list of DT items with prioritization order, based on the consistent judgments given

This research contributes to developing an artifact for prioritizing software technical debt items using the AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) method.
Social / management contributions
This research has a greater purpose, which is to provide organizations with the ability to make assertive decisions regarding the prioritization of DT items in software development projects.
